Hi Terry, Finding an original 1951 level devil Ford differential cover can be tricky, but I’d suggest starting with online marketplaces like eBay or Craigslist, where vintage parts often pop up. Local salvage yards can be worth a visit, as they sometimes have old parts tucked away. Or, you can attend classic car shows or swap meets could lead to some promising finds. I hope your friend locates the cover soon! Kindest

The basic part number for the part is 4033. It was used on Ford F-1 pickup trucks from 1948 to 52. Contact VanPelt Sales, Little Dearborn or Yesteryear Ford Parts to see if they can locate the part for you.

It's a 1951 Ford pickup truck to differential cover removes from the back not the front. I believe it's at 8.8 rear end

Which model are you referring to? Is it a passenger car, station wagon or truck? Does the differential have a cover on the back of the axle housing or does it have a carrier that removes from the front of the housing? Please advise so we can provide information on the part you are seeking.
