That is either a 36 or 37 switch with the control knob replaced to appear like 35. It will operate oppositely from the original 35 switch. Yes the wiring bullet connectors push into the holes but they are the small bullet connectors with the flat tip. The larger diameter bullet connectors have a slightly pointed tip.

Those "two half circle brass ends at back of switch" I believe are there to accept bullet ended wire connectors...

Two dumb questions: 1. The switch for dash lights purchased from vendor on EBAY: When I push knob in the contacts are closed (lights would turn on) and when I pull the knob out the contacts are open (turn dash lights off). Is this correct for my 1935 fordor sedan? 2. There are two half circle brass ends at back of switch. I don't see a way to connect the wires....See image. Any help here is appreciated.

"..but wrong knob. A friend says he can make one on 3D printer to match OEM." Maybe this?: www.dennis-carpenter.com/cars/interior/dash/48-13741-b-35-light-switch-knob

The dash light switch is at the top LH of the four holes, as you have indicated for 35. The switch operates reverse to the 36-37 dash light switch. They are very hard to find especially in operating condition. Suggest if you find any of the 35-37 switches just change the knob to 35 and live with the operational difference. Photos below are of the 37 switch, which varies from 36 by just the knob.

Bottom edge of the dash?? I think that Howie1935 is right. That the hole in his picture is for a push-pull switch that controls the dash lights. That's the case in my '36, anyway. And I also thought that pulling the switch out turned the lights on in a '35, while pushing the switch in turns them on in a '36. Never mind that those switches are hard to find. In my '36, the dash lights are controlled by that switch at the upper left which is in the taillight circuit. Separate from the headlights and running lights.
