I got a 48 Merc convertible and while working under the car I found this problem. The drag link rubs on the wish bone at the passenger side front wheel. I purchased a new link thinking maybe it was bent, but not the problem. Does anybody have any ideas? I don't see anything loose or worn in the front end. al

A photo of the drag link installed would help. Try posting one from the transmission side and one from the front of the car. Another photo showing where it rubs would help also.

I will try to post some pictures. In the meantime does the pitman arm tilt up or down where the drag link connects?
