Hey guys, A new problem, rc'd new Bendix, with instructions 'be careful'. Well I was, but not enough. As soon as I opened package Bendix disengaged. I did try using the starter to spin it, as well as spinning it on the bench wire wheel. Won't go back. Tried tapping Bendix while spinning, no work. Maybe it doesn't spin fast enough? I remember doing this when I was a kid, back in 50's, when I knew nothing, and it always worked. What am I missing or doing wrong. And yes, I am spinning in direction it would spin if mounted in engine. Thanks again guys. Dennis

I would mount on a good starter, mount the starter in a vise, And hook up to a battery and see if it works, spins out and retracts, might need a light lubing, WD 40 not heavy oil, is this a USA made BENDIX, or CHINA ? you can try CERTIFIED AUTO ELECTRIC in OHIO for NEW OLD STOCK BENDIX Made in USA, WHILE they still have them,,,, HOPE this helps 37 RAGTOPMAN, knowing what car and what year, makes in easier to SUPPLY INFORMATION
