The brake adjustment procedure for the 1937 is different than the 1936 because of the change to cable actuated brakes. A procedure for adjusting the cables without the special KRW tool is documented in the Ford 1937 and 1938 Engine and Chassis Repair Manual #V-14 reprint with a blue cover. A procedure for a minor and major adjustment as well as the procedure to adjust the cable conduits is covered in this book. The reprint of the 1932-37 Service Bulletins describes the procedure to adjust the cables and conduits using the KRW tool. I have no direct experience with the cable brakes yet, I am in the process of adding them back on my car, but I have been told that you should have woven brake shoes to make them effective.

Is the brake adjustment procedure for a 37 car different than 36? Is there a shop manual for the 37? I ordered the 37 restoration manual yesterday. I just acquired a 37 Fordoor that was in the same family for four generations since new. Although supposedly the brakes were just replaced, they feel non-existent as there is virtually NO stopping power. VERY SCARY!!
