"Already posted about the Vintage Precision puller link and offered the loan of mine to the OP. Was just pointing out that Winfield Tool Works is OB in response to Kubes40 posting." Yes, I went back and saw that you had already posted the Precision Puller url information before I posted mine. Missed seeing that on my first pass.

51504bat, a good point you make on the Winfield Tool Works puller no longer being in production. Also, it's difficult to find good used versions of the original KRW, or the Winfield pullers. However, Vintage Precision in California makes a top quality puller that works as well as the original KR Wilson, or the Winfield copy of the KRW. Check their url listed below: http://vintageprecision.com/products/hub_pullers/index.html

The best "foolproof" hub puller is the Winfield Tool Works version of the original KRW tool. I have used mine for decades. It uses a protective sleeve for the threads on the axle that can be easily damaged. Back in the day, when I was a Ford dealer mechanic, every dealer had the original KRW kept in a wooden box. They can be found at swap meets occasionally, and sell for about $100 if complete. Google "Ford hub pullers" for more info, and pullers for sale.

The puller shown in 51504bat's post is the best type of puller you can use for pulling early Ford drums/hubs. Also, ford38v8 gives good advice on assembly of drum/hub to tapered axle. The tapered fit area of both hub and axle should be clean and free of any type debris or lubricant. John

Dave, I have the puller I posted the info about. If you happen to be in SoCal you can borrow it. Tim
