I know there are eccentric bolts, maybe wave washers, and maybe internal star lock washers . I do have the frame assembled and working but not certain about placement of eccentric bolts and washers. What would have been the proper placement /assembly of these bolts and washers? What keeps the bolts from loosing and or tightening when top goes up and down? Does anyone know of a schematic for the top frame? Any help is appreciated.

There are excellent diagrams in the 44-52 Ford body parts book. It is available from C&G as V-44, $52. Their order number is 800/266-0470. We used this book when I restored my '47 convertible. Ask for their catalog. It is a treasure of information that anyone with a 32-56 Ford and 39-56 Mercury needs.
