Looking at a very nice Original 55 Merc except it has electronic ignition installed. Exactly what it involved in that - good and bad.

Should be fine. Many flat heads have been converted. My suggestion would be to determine the manufacturer and get a spare module. Paul in CT

The good part is if the electronic fails you can always put the point style back in the car.

I have had the Pertronix Igniter2 & coil in both of my flatheads for yrs. now , have been trouble free. - F F
