StainlessSteel Washers may take a little time longer for the motor to heat up, but THEY NEVER FAIL, and THERMOSTATS DO FAIL, and if your on a road trip and they fail, "Your up the creek, without a paddle!!!!!" I use them and they work fine!! Regards, Steve Lee

Stainless steel washers or any kind of washers do not take the place of a quality thermostat.

I'm certain they are good, and work; but why spend the money when you can just buy (2) Stainless Steel washers the size of the hose, drill a 3/4 inch hole in them, and install them for a cost of about $1.50?? To me that's a no brainer. Regards, Steve Lee

Hi Pat, First, may I request that you please refrain from typing with ALL CAPS, as they make for a very difficult read for these old eyes! Robert Shewman is a good supplier, and has developed several excellent products. I see no reason why his thermostats would not serve you well. Alan
