Hi, My 1935 Ford Phaeton has two bulbs in each of it's front headlights and they are 6 volts. I've replaced the bulb that seems to be the high and low beam headlight. There is another bulb in each headlight assembly. It is similar to a Philips 1141 which I can only find in 12 volts. I've tested the socket and it seems to provide 6 volts. What is that light used for? I've been thinking that it might be parking lights? Or turn signal lights? Which I doubt. I've been looking and can't find a replacement bulb. Maybe I just don't know how to turn them on? Yes, this is all new to me.

Hi Larry, The second bulb inside the headlamp assembly is the parking lamp. These are 3 candle power/single contact straight bayonet base 6v bulbs. Bulbs sits at an angle above the low/high beam 6v bulb you have already discovered. On the steering wheel sits your light position switch. There will be two "ears" above and below the "V8" logo. Ears straight up and down = lights off. Ears one click to the right = parking lamps. ears two clicks left from center =low beams. ears one click left from center =high beams. Hope this helps!

Thank you, Jon. That's what I wanted to know but couldn't find out until you answered.

The parking light bulb should be a 55-6v bulb. C&G has them and most other suppliers have thekm. They are available on Amazon also.
