My father gave this to me it was my grandfather’s can’t find anything on the web except that it’s for timing flathead v8 with 3 bolt distributors. Does anyone know exactly what and how this is used. Ok I got the information I needed is there anyone out there that can use or want this $ I have no use for it. Was thinking about taking to a pawnshop

It's a device for timing 1932-1941 Ford V-8 distributors. Unlike later designs, they had to be removed from the engine and placed on a device such as yours for adjustment.

If you have good eyes and sensitive fingers with a feeler blade you don't need all the fanancey gadjets to set up a helmet dist. Also the ruler system don't work on the helmet ones.Have done 100's of them over the past 25 yrs without any machines at all. All by hand and eyeballs. OMO. ken ct.
