You will need to start by removing the hood and then the grille. Make sure you have help with the hood. Unbolt the grille from the radiator and then unbolt the grille from the fenders. Remove the grille along with the inner grille panel. Now check at the bottom of the radiator and remove the crossover wires for the right side headlamp and horn. Then drain the radiator and remove the hoses. To keep damage from the radiator fins it is advisable to put a pad or cardboard between the radiator and the fan. Next remove the bolts and springs that hold the radiator to the frame. Lastly remove the rods that connect the radiator to the firewall(leave them connected to the firewall). Now you can maneuver the radiator out between the front fenders. Hopefully I've covered all the bases, but if not someone will add to my directions.

I managed to remove my radiator from my '36 5 window without removing the grill, mostly because I could not get to the grill bolts with the radiator in the way. Anyway, I have an 8BA motor which makes it even tougher to get the radiator out, but I managed to do it. If you don't know, the radiator has two "ears" that stick out at the bottom, that is how it is held to the frame. After I got it out, and took it to the radiator shop, I asked him not to solder the bottom support back to the radiator, but rather I drilled two holes through the flanges where the side supports are attached to the bottom support and put bolts through them. All this sounds terrible and difficult, but once you have the old one out and drill the holes and put the bolts in, it makes reinstalling it a 10 minute job without scratching the paint. You drill the holes and put the bolts in before you take it to the radiator shop and have him unsolder that bottom support and not solder it back on. Then you install that bottom support onto the frame, then drop the radiator in and put the bolts back in. You might have to remove your horns. I tried to attach a picture but it does not look like it came out very big.

The photo will appear small, but will increase to full size when someone clicks on it.
