With the ID # starting with F1 I suspect it is a 1948-1952 vintage Ford truck. The F1 series was the 1/2 ton chassis.

For many years Ford used serial numbers instead of the now common VIN system. Most VMVs require a number of some sort, and the frame number, if it exists now, is commonly accepted. If it can't be found, the usual solution is the assignment of an arbitrary number often described as a "home built" and a bonded title. The best advice is require a valid title on any vehicle you plan to buy, or walk away. I have fought the "title search" over the years. One car was offered, and a title search revealed that the vehicle had been used as collateral five times, with three still of record!

A friend has this old Ford body on his land and asked me if I could identify it. Well, most of it is gone and I am sure that it is older than 1932. Was wondering if anyone could ID it by this vin # : FIH1CH15267 with the Ford logo under it on the passenger side cowl. Appears to be a delivery truck. No front end and a 48-50 truck dashboard was cobbled into it! Thanks for your time. zoopie
