Problem solved. My brother was a little carried away describing his problem. All that was wrong was the striker was torn out of the bracket. Straightened the torn area; added a patch and then installed a striker from one of the vendors. Thanks for all the help. Arnie

Here's another photo showing the bracket has a bend in it and extends down to the bottom of the tool tray and attaches down there.

The 1937 Ford Club Coupe was available only as a Deluxe Model. Only 16,992 of these coupes were built.

I really appreciate the photo. Transferred it to my photo album and will print off a copy for my brother who I am seeing tomorrow. Bob Drake sells a pair of parts that are supposed to be the catch parts but do not look like your photo. Drake and Mac's sell a striker that match yours. Thanks: aRNIE

Attached is a photo of the trunk latch in my 1937 Ford Deluxe 5 window coupe. By the serial number, my car, or my engine, was built in early February, 1937.

The cast striker may be reproduced. Have you contacted any of the V-8 parts vendors?

Two windshield wipers point to it being a De Luxe Coupe. De Luxe also had two tail lights, although some Standards could have been equipped with two tail lights after leaving the factory. Bright grill also points to De Luxe (Standard has a painted grille). Non Bright windshield frame is found on standard but this could of been a replacement. Also, if there are holes on the outer edge of the running board for Stainless trim spear, then that would be De Luxe. Looks like a De Luxe from here, but who knows.
