Can anyone tell me the correct bolts to attach the Houdaille shocks to the frame for my 47 Ford? Previous owner had used D bolts but apparently these are for 32-36 shocks not 47.

ross 49. I'm not sure what you refer to as a D bolt. I had the rear Houdaille shocks off my '46 to check the action and oil levels, and they were bolted with round headed carriage bolts. The square area under the head of the bolt fit into the square hole in the frame. A local bolt supplier should have them, but specify that you want a grade 5 bolt. The ones you get at a local hardware store ae generally only grade 2 bolts, which are not strong enough.
