Would anyone have for sale the center plastic piece that fits on the dash of the 1948 Ford 2dr. sedan, and willing to ship to New York state. My side pieces are fine, they are beige or tan in colour. Hate using classified because of scammers.Thank fellas.Johna

Please use "classified" for sale and search of car parts. Otherwise, I've seen them for sale at various early ford parts sites. both original plastic and the aftermarket chrome plated metal. Google for them.

Is there a reason that you don't want to use a reproduction from Dennis Carpenter. I used them on my '46 and are just like original.

Used ones may be hard to find. These kinds of parts often went into the crusher with the car body. Color matching may be a concern. The plastic used for the original parts will show various degrees of color fading (UV exposure) depending on the environment in which they have been used and stored. UV exposure can make plastic more "brittle". Apparently some have good luck with reproductions.

Drake used to sell the metal ones unchromed. You then could paint them the proper color and they would not warp from the sun. Once in a while you can find the metal center piece at swap meets.
