Your car distributor does not have a vacuum advance but rather a vacuum brake. The engine vacuum acts to pull the brake away from the mechanical advance, allowing faster advance response. The front port is for the distributor.

I have a 1946 59AB in a 39. I see 2 separate vacuum outlets on the intake manifold, but both have plugs in them. The one I removed had a newer 7/16 20 which was only turned in 4-5 threads. The other looks older and is in very tight…I am leaving that one alone for now. Does anyone know what fittings should be in these outlets? I assume one is for the Trico and the other for the distributor advance… Thanks for any help.
