ohm reading from thr fuel tank

Does anyone know what the correct OHM reading is for a 1936 Ford they told me the fuel thank is the right fuel tank on the car. . But trying to figure the correct OHM that goes to the stock gage ??

If you have an original electric King-Seeley sending unit in very good condition, the ohm reading should be near 0.2 ohms in all positions. The aftermarket unit use a variable resister to indicate fuel level and they are not very accurate.

I have an aftermarket sender. the resistance measures 33 ohms when the float is up to 233 ohms when down. i'm not sure what I have in the tank but ended up experimenting with different resistors between the sender and the gauge. i did get the gauge to read full when the tank is full and empty before I run out of gas. the gauge itself can be adjusted, maybe even from the back, I just don't recall. if the gauge doesn't work at all, the fine wire inside may be broken. mine was. delicate work.
