Mineral spirits paint thinner may soften it for removal. It would be safer than using gasoline.

Eastwood sells an undercoating removal product that works with lots of effort. A gasoline leak removed the undercoating on the gas tank of my Lincoln. The Eastwood product is safer to use.

You have to get to the two mounting nuts on the underside of the fender. Happy scr*ping. There will also be a metal wire cover under there with another nut at on the fender to body mounting bolt. I wish I knew what dissolves undercoating. Anybody out there know? 1934 Ford's since 1972

is there any special consideration to take when removing the tail light from the fender? This car has a heavy undercoating from years ago so the mounting bracket isn't clearly visible.
