I will take a stab at it -- this information is from the 1949-1951 Ford Book that the Club sells. Look at your cowl, under the hood. There should be several numbers and letters stamp into it. If it is light tan -- look for the letter R -- Sandpiper Tan (added April 24, 1951) You will also find the assembly plant letters stamped there. As well as the code for month and day, along with unit number. Example: 3DL11C201 ... this breaks down to 3 -Black paint, DL-Dallas assembly, 11 day of C - March, and the 201 unit production number. You can purchase the 1949-1951 Ford Book from the online store on this site. Hope this helps.

Yes Paint code K for 1951 Although, I wouldn't call Hawaiian Bronze light brown.

Check out eBay auction #282950570724 . It's a Sandpiper Tan (R code) '51 Victoria with a Hawaiian Bronze Metallic (K code) top. Also, just for good measure here's a picture of a Sandpiper Tan '51 Convertible.

SP = St. Paul assembly plant 73B = Custom Deluxe Fordor K = Hawaiian Bronze F = Custom Bedford Cord, two tone brown interior 230 ? Could the "0" be a "C" for March, "D" for April or a "G" for July? The "23" could be the day of the month. 4567B = Production Code meaningful to SP plant Not sure about the "M". Sometimes it means December and sometimes "0".
