You won't have to pull out the wiring harness to replace the grommet. You can simply cut the grommet with a razor blade, place the grommet over the wiring harness, glue the cut edges back together with weatherstripping contact adhesive, and tuck the grommet into the hole around the wires.

I've had good luck with the Grommets from Drake. The problem is whether or not he has them in stock. Many of the vendors like C and G Parts, All Ford Parts, and others who carry Drake parts may have them in stock. Check your V-8 Times for the parts vendors and give them a call.

Thank you Ken. I'll check them out. Looks like they have an ebay site.

I am rebuilding my 48 Tudor Sedan and have already been disappointed with some of the replacement grommets I've gotten. I got headlight bucket grommets from Mac's. They were not like the originals with the retaining clip and one was badly torn. The firewall grommet I got from Carpenter is too small for the original opening and is very loose. The next grommet I need is the one for the emergency brake/speedometer cables. Does anyone have a source for grommets that fit well and like the originals? I hate to even think about pulling out all of the new wiring I just passed through the firewall to replace the grommet again though. Thanks, Dave
