My 1935 Phaeton doesn't have a Spare Tire Strap nor a Luggage Rack. If I were to put these on, what paint color are they to be painted? Is it color of the body or just black? My 35 Phaeton is painted black. So would it be the same black? Thanks, Kenneth

The strap would be black and the rack could be black or pinstripe color.

Thanks Don for your reply, Would both be painted with the same black paint as the car or does black really matter. My car is painted Raven Black. I want it to be as original as possible. Thanks again!

I don't believe that it really matters as long as the shade of black is the same. Originally Ford used a black enamel called medium luster black (M-1724) for Body color, wheels, gas tank, etc. Most likely the strap and rack (if black) would be the same.

Thanks Don once again for your reply. Sorry for the delay, my wife and I went to Stockton, Ca. to become grand parents, our first. I feel the locking hub and strap are okay but is the luggage rack an authorized or legal accessory? Thanks, Kenneth Hatcher

Yes the luggage rack was a correct factory or dealer installed accessory.
