Who sells the adapter to use in later heads to run the 37-39 temp gauge? Thanks

No one sells the repop. You'll need to find a NOS piece (or used) or better yet, install the proper cylinder head. They are more readily available than the adapter.

Stewart Warner has an adapter that allows you to use their mechanical temp gauge in '36 water pumps and '46 AB heads, know this as I have both these

Try NAPA part # g60615-0606. 3/8" NPT to 5/8"female, bushing with a seat for the capillary tube.

Thanks 42 Merc, the NAPA adapter is a perfect fit. To Mike, When I bought the car in 1968 it had a 59A engine in it that was modified(merc crank, Edelbrock heads, Edmunds intake and Fenton headers) in the late 50s. But it had no temp gauge hooked up. Now as for original, I also got with the car the original to this car engine. I am slowly rebuilding this engine with genuine NOS Ford parts as I find them(except rings). In the meantime I am certainly enjoying it as it is.
