My 41' PU came with 40' hood chrome. Can the 40' hood chrome be used on my 41'hood?

What chrome are you talking about? Can you post a photo?

The hood ornament is not a direct substitute, because the 41 hood has an additional plate under it. The holes in the hood should match up with the 40 ornament. If the part is original, it should have a part number on the inside. That would identify it further. The P/N should start with 01C or 11C if it is the PU part.

You have two different hood latch handles in your photo. One will work with the hood trim you show and the other will not. The other appears to be a 41 hood handle. There should be a part # on the inside of each handle. The 41 handle should have the # 11C-8215-B. It will not fit the 40 hood trim. If you would like to sell that handle send me a private message. As TomO has indicated, there is a difference between the 40 and 41 pickup hood. The '40(and early '41) hood uses the '40 standard passenger car upper and lower hood latch/grille brace. The later '41 hood uses a very unique upper latch and lower grille brace/hood latch. A photo of the underside of your hood showing the area of the front latch would help identify your hood. The '41 hood and latch change was made when Ford gave the 6 cylinder motor option.
