I would like to know how to take the heater switch apart. the control nob so i can take it out of the bracket belo the dash thanks Larry

Those knobs are usually connected to the shaft with a small set screw. If you don't see a set screw in the shank of the knob then it is held in with a spring that fits into a groove on the switch shaft. If this is the case then pull straight back on the knob and it should come off.

My '51 heater switch knob screws onto the threaded shaft. There is no set screw. If your switch is the 2-speed Arcless switch, it's just like mine. If it is stuck, pull the shaft out, grip it w/pliers and unscrew the knob counter clockwise.
