Hi I have a 48,52,53 and 55 F-1, and I wanted to try and find out what color to paint the seat frames, I'm going to do the seat on the 55 first.

On my '51, there are several different colors on the frame and springs. The brackets that bolt the frame to the floor are argent. The frame itself is taupe (brownish gray) and the springs are either taupe or semi-gloss black depending upon the spring: the springs under the seat bottom are semi-gloss black, the coil springs on the seat back are semi-gloss black, but the flat springs that stretch from the top frame rail to the bottom frame rail are taupe. I don't really know the grill color. It was also used on late 1951 models. I used an off-white I got from TCP Global. I don't think anyone can tell me it's the wrong color. Just pick one that looks right. I have attached a picture of my truck so you can see the color. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg264/rcrispd/PB010053.jpg Richard
