We are restoring a 1936 Ford Model 51 1 1/2 ton commercial stake side flat bed truck at the San Diego Auto Museum and need some good pictures of how it looked from the factory. It is unusual in that it has a double bogey (non-driven) behind the regular rear axle for big loads I guess. Has anyone seen this setup and was it factory available? Seems like an awful lot of steel and wood for an 85hp engine with mechanical brakes! Not sure if it is a 131"wb or a 157"wb. Will take measurements next time and some photos. The tandem axle did not come from the factory. I have seen an advertisement (on ebay) for, I believe, an aftermarket Rockwell tandem axle which was not driven. I have some original 36 Ford truck brochures I can scan when I get home in a few days.
