I recently purchased a 49 f1 shortbed, my question is: Did they ever put hood ornaments on this truck? There are two holes in the hood for an ornament but I've never seen a truck with any type ornament? Also, does anyone know of pics for 3/4 ton f3 flatbed?

Ford never offered a hood ornament on the 48-52 trucks. The curve is similar to the 49-51 cars, so these ornaments ended up on the trucks to jazz them up a little. Weld the holes shut and you'll be correct. Barry 50 F-1

richox, you brought back some memories. My dad had a 51 F-1 and he put a chrome bird on the hood with lighted wings. The wings were orange in color. I think he got it from Western Auto.
