Thanks for the info, just as you guys said. I did however, raise the back of the motor thus lifting the trans higher, to give me more working clearance to pull it out, as the rear trans crossmember was riveted in and I could not remove it. Can't wait to get it back in after installing new flywheel/disc/pressure plate/pilot bushing and of course a fresh coat of paint. Thxs again oldguy

Disconnect the speedometer cable, remove the rear motor mounts, remove the clam sh*ll over the universal joint, disconnect the flex brake line going to the rear Marrakesh, disconnect the emergency brake cable, disconnect the shock absorbers, remove the nuts on the u-bolts that hold the spring, drop the axle assembly and pull it back. Disconnect the shift arms, disconnect the clutch linkage, unbolt the transmission and pull it back, up and out of the car. Be sure to cover the seat or remove it so that you don't get grease on it. I like to remove the seat as it gives more room to work and protects it from the grease.

Oldguy, Drop the rear end first, pull it back, and pull the tranny out the top. This is the easiest way to go rather than to pull the engine. Be sure to drain the tranny, cap it, and protect the interior well.
