I've read the other posts on this topic but didn't find and answer. I have a 47 Merc Conv. We are converting the car to 12V neg ground. The heater motor in the car is a newer 2 wire 6v motor in the old 4 wire heater box. The switch is the original 5 speed switch - off, heat fast and slow, def fast and slow. Does anyone have a part number or source for a 12V 4 wire / dual speed motor that I can wire up to the original switch? I don't really want to use a voltage reducer if I can help it because of the heat load. Thanks, Lance

Why are you converting the car to 12 volts? Unless you have a special need, it is better to leave the car at 6 Volts. How much do you use the heater? Occasional use for short times (15min max) would probably limit the harm done enough for the motor to last a few years. Other than that, I would have the motor converted to 12 volts. You could also rewire a 12 volt brush motor to use with your switch.
