I am assembling a 1940 Mercury V8 and am not sure which exhaust manifold is correct. Could someone identify how to tell the correct 1940 manifold from the 59A-B style? Pictures would be helpful. Thanks! Chris

Chris, I can send you pictures with a direct email address. The easiest way to distinguish the (right side) '40 manifold from the later type is it is flat across the back whereas the later type is round. Also, the right side will have the part number, 78-9430 cast in to the back side. Did you get the photos? Mike Kubarth

Thanks for the info. I understand what you are saying. What years were the "early" manifolds used vs the 59A-B manifilds? You can e mail me at cemac@macallister.com. Thanks, Chris
