Well, yes, there are two different filters for 1940. However, to clarify, there is one style for the 85 and 95 HP engine and another style for the 60HP engine.

There are two very different oil filters for the 40 Ford. AC and Fram both use different flex lines

I'll look later today or tomorrow to see if I have any of those fittings for you. The restrictor fitting can be made easy enough y soldering the correct appearing fitting and drilling a .060" hole. Stay tuned

Whenever I have to replace something on my 1940 Fordor Deluxe, I am trying to get it closer to stock/original. It is time to replace my oil filter lines. The ones I have on the car are well over 20 years old and, I now know are not correct. I had these made at Hose-Man at the time and they have worked well all this time. I am looking for the specific brass fittings as outlined in Mike Kubarth's book "It's Ford for Forty" including the one for the bottom/center of the filter/canister, and the one that threads into the block by the oil pressure sensor. Both of these have specific angles, according to the book. I didn't have any original hoses to work from back then-I finally found a set a week ago (the high pressure hose is actually about 4" too short, so I am thinking it might be a later one from when Ford moved the filter aft). These old hoses are, of course, far too old to use. I am hoping that I can have Hose-Man make up a new set that is closer to stock/original than what I have now. I do not know the thread sizes for any of these-that would be nice to know as well. I am also looking for the flow restrictor (which I think is .060". I don't know if it is integral with the end of the high pressure hose that connects to the fitting on the engine block, or a separate piece. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
