Well I can get a 80 lb one. So what is the story behind the non-availability of a 50 lb one? . I am using a 50 lb one now and I have a back up, but seems strange on the lack of supply. Thanks Ken Burke

Nothing strange about it. Any manufacturer considering producing a product for sale must take into account the size of the potential market. Without that information, he is likely to tie up his capital in unsaleable merchandise.

Used 50# sending units are hard to find. If you have a working KS unit it should last a long time and can be repaired if it fails. I sold my last 50# unit 15 years ago and the buyer was happy to find it.
