How many, and what # are the instrument bulbs in a '40 Deluxe Convertble?

There are two bulbs, both #51 as I recall.

The 55 bulb fits nice in my Mercury and gives much more light than the 51. They may also fit the Ford instrument cluster.

Thanks "Kubes." Saves me from crawling under that dasterdly dash! Once to install them is enough! None for the clock?

The wiring diagram shows 1 bulb for the clock. I am pretty sure that the 55 bulb will not work in the clock.

I am using a 55 bulb in my clock.

Thanks Ken. The 55 bulb would not fit in my 1940 Mercury clock and i assumed that the size restriction would also apply the the 194 Ford Deluxe clock.
