Here is another article from Bruce Lancaster, about the 60 H.P. motor. I never heard of a 1940 ford with a tube front axel? Domenic

Not all 60HP equipped '40 Fords received a tube axle. On the other hand, not all 85HP '40 Fords received a solid axle.

Mike I have never even seen an early ford with a tube axel. These were available in the U.S.A. ? Domenic

Yes, I've had a few. One was an 85HP convertible. The others were 60HP cars, one a Fordor and one a coupe.
