I am looking for any articles, or video links talking about or showing helpful hints, cautions or tricks to remove and replace my 1940 ford deluxe coupe running boards. It looks like it should be straight forward, but since I have never done it before ,I'd like to ask for any information available to prevent or minimize any unforeseen surprise. Respectfully submitted, Ken Svela

It's a very simple process. If you pan on installing the anti-squeak material as original, I would suggest you glue it to the board the night before. That makes the installation process so much easier. There is one hex head bolt near the rear that threads in to a captured nut within the frame rail. Use caution removing that bolt in case it is corroded within the nut. When you begin to install your replacement board(s), I'd suggest you prop up each to the approximate height necessary. Get a couple of bolts started loosely in the rear fender to board first. Then a couple in the front fender to board - loosely. Keep an eye on where the board lines up to the fender lip. They should be fairly even along the bottom edge. Then start installing the board to frame rail fasteners. Once things appear to be lining up, tighten the bolts at each fender a little more snug at this time. Then pull down the frame to board fasteners all the way. Then go back and tighten the fender to board bolts all the way.
