...and so the great hunt begins. I see a lot of Hershey walking in front of me.

Wayne I pretty well searched Hershey this year for the deflector. I haven't gone any further in my hunt but am thinking the next step is to measure one and see if some small shop couldn't make a few. Ted

I chatted with the owner/restorer of the 42 Army Wagon at Gettysburg a bit and he mentioned that he had to make the air deflector on his car. I meant to go back and talk to him about it again, but time conspired against me. That was quite a piece of work, mostly done from photos and references, beautiful. His military markings were spurious, but done to honor relatives - always a good reason. Would make an excellent article for the V8 magazine.

Hi from Downunder, I am trying to find a good example of this deflector to look at trying to make a small reproduction run if there is enough interest. I have messaged Dave to see if he still has his for sale or I have a rusty one that I will try to use as a pattern. Meric Hoffman (New Zealand)

I have heard from old Ford mechanics and others that they were tired of hitting their heads working under the hood. They took them off and many times didn't put them back.

I had arranged to purchase a duplicate Mike Nichols had (person who did the wonderful '42 Army Wagon) with pick-up at Hershey, but we never connected. Still very interested. Cpipp, don't see your piece in the classifieds, I gather yours is gone?
