Its a project for sure. The truck has been in the family for quite some time, but needs quite a bit of restoration. I'm not really sure where to start on it. Was wondering if I could get some pointers from some people who have done it here.

Here is the link to the photos.

Excellent collection of photos. You should add your general location to your profile so suggestions will be for resources that are near to you. Is the master cylinder mounted yet?

  Hi Charlie,

Update my profile. Im just outside of St. Louis, MO. I havent done any work on it yet. Hopefully ill get the book and see where to find the master at. I have a late model pontiac that I used to tinker with, but i have never worked on something this old.

Thanks,

Mike

The book won't show you where the master cylinder is located. Ford didn't go to hydraulic brakes until 1939 but from the drums it looks like someone was doing a conversion. The truck should have rods for the brakes but as I said it looks like someone started to convert it. Follow the lines coming out of the backing plates and it should lead to the master cylinder if there is one. Get some pictures.

I think that you would find the Club's 1932 Ford Book to be a big help (other than with the hydraulic brakes as it is devoted to "as built") in your project. It's available via the online store on this website.

Sounds good. Ill take a look and get more pictures. I ordered the book(s). Where is the best place to get parts for these guys?

For mechanical parts, Third Gen Automotive in TN, for cab sheet metal, rear fenders, window regulators, and door latches, United Pacific in CA, and for bed components, Mac Hils in MO.
