Could you supply a little more information? Was it damaged in removal or repair? They are pretty simple to take apart and repair unless there has been some serious damage.

The Lock and switch works with key and can be use as is. The concern is the looseness (wear of moving parts) when locking and unlocking using key. Would like to have worn parts replaced if possible. I have a additional 1936 switch assembly with no key. The key from my original unit will fit in the additional switch which indicates that is not a broken key or restriction and a new key made would operate the switch. The parts contained in both switches may be used to assemble one good switch. I am mechanically inclined and would have no concern in the disassembly and assembly of both switches if i understood the procedure. Thanks for any assistance. Don, Thanks for the illustration drawing outlining the disassembly of the switch. After reviewing the drawings, it appears very straight forward with patience. Step 6 refers to remove the pin from the locking slide shaft. I understand the purpose for pin. How firm is the pin held in place and what procedure and tool do you recommend for removing the pin without damaging?

The 36 lock cylinder has the name HURD imprinted in the front. The retaining pin is under the cylinder. The pin has to be drilled (Very small like 6-32 and very shallow) and tapped to use a puller to pull the lock pin out. The cylinder then can be removed. Typically the ignition lock cylinder also operates the door lock. They can be keyed alike by a locksmith.
