Hello I am restoring a 1941 ford mercury, and i want to paint the car in Lockhaven Green which was an early ford colour. I am based in the UK and require a modern paint code reconised over here. Can any body help is there any body in the Uk that has that paint colour i could get copied. Thanks Howard.

I'm not sure for you over in Jolly Ole' England but the "Ditzler" number for both Laquer #DAL-40121 and Enamel #DQE-40054(? I had to use a magnifier) most paint suppliers here in the US can cross Ditzler number and have the mix formula for their product!!! MAYBE someone here has had that color mixed before OR works in a shop that "Could" give you a PPG mix or a Sherwin Williams mix??

According to the Early Ford V-8 Club's "1941-48 Ford Book", Lochaven Green had a Color Code of M-3925 and was available in 1941 on Super Deluxe Models. The normal wheel stripe color that went with this color is Silver Gray with Color Code M-744. On special order Vermillion M-950 could be selected for the wheel stripe color.

You can see if your paint supplier can use the codes found in this chart:

http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?year=1941&make=Mercury&model=All&gncl=All&action=Get+Paint+Codes

Or you can have a sprayout card made by TCP Global and mailed to you. The charge is reasonable when you compare it to the cost of paint today. Once you have the sprayout card you can color match it.
