Is the front sway bar on a '40 exactly the same as a '41 as illustrated in Joe's Antique catalog, or is the bar width different. Looking for a 1940 and don't want to get stuck with the wrong one if they are different. Carl

Both the first and second designs utilized in 1940 were unique to 1940.

  hi
What I see in the FORD PARTS list, is a for a 1941 FORD,pass stabilizer 11A 3535
it seems to me that the stabilizer is the same for 1940 FORD and 1941 only the bushing is different in 1940,?
I ENCLOSED a photo ,
seems like this was only for 2 years, 40-41
from 1942 to 1948 FORD used a TRACK BAR, 21A 3550
I see also that SPEEDWAY has a track bar to fit many early Fords with I beam axle

my 2 cents, 1937RAGTOPMAN
I have a sway bar for sale, the 2 parts that are worn are 01A 3533 A 01A 3534 D
it is painted orange,
message me if you want to see photos

Whenever you see an 11A prefix you can be certain it is NOT the same as 1940 (01A). If it were the same, Ford would not have changed the prefix.

I am certain all appreciate your effort to help. I too was attempting to help and as such advised you what many true restorers know... parts books are okay for reference only. Also, if a part number prefix has been changed, you can be certain the part is different than the previous year / prefix applied.

if you look at the photo of the difference between 40 and 41
it shows the difference in the bushing's from one year to the other
not the same part numbers,

I wasn't aware of any photos in any Ford parts books. Illustrations (quite generic) which help find the proper piece sure...
