Hello, Can anyone tell me what the original finish was for a 37 Ford windshield frame (Sedan Delivery)? Mine looks to be original, unpolished aluminum. My restoration is following the "standard" model, as opposed to the Deluxe model, but would be helpful to know if the frame finish is different between the two. I know a lot of people like to have it chromed, but I am not there yet. If my memory serves me right (big if), some frames were even painted black from the factory??? Thanks, Gregg

The Deluxe cars windshield frame was chrome plated and the standard was painted according to the brochure. http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/ford/37fr/37fr.html The V-8 Album only shows the standard Sedan Delivery.

I think all Sedan Deliveries prior to 1940 were "Standards" (or, just "Fords" in Fordspeak). The 1940 Sedan Delivery was upgraded to a Deluxe in an attempt to remedy slow sales. Consequently, I would be surprised to see a '37 Sedan Delivery with a chrome windshield frame.

The V-8 album says there were Deluxe Sedan Deliveries in 1937. I am not at home, so I cannot give you the number manufactured. They were built in other years as well.

TomO is correct. The V-8 Album shows that 707 Deluxe Sedan Deliveries and 7,841 Standards were built in 1937.
