Fuel pump problem

hi i have a electric fuel pump 6 v in my Ford Truck 1 1/2 ton instead of the mecanick I have mounted it directly to the battery Suddenly it stop working. totaly dead, after few minutes it works ??

If I'm understanding you correctly, the pump would be running all the time, if it is wired directly to the battery. If is wired through the switch, as it should be, check for a good ground for current when the switch is on. Also, when it reaches a given pressure, it will stop pumping until the pressure goes down. If all this fails, you probably have a defective pump.

yes the pump its running all the time. i have a switch and put the pump on when driving but not a regulator.anf turned it off when stopp driving.

the best way to do this is to wire it through the ignition switch.
