I am almost done with the restoration of my 1951 F1. I want to add seat belts (lap belts) to the truck. Can anyone recommend a vendor that sells belt kits that work well in this vehicle? I'm looking for something that looks like the aviation type with the pull up release. Thank you!

Definitely not era or restoration correct but I would look into some of the newer truck seats that include a head rest and seat belt as part of the design. Going this way depends upon how much you plan to use the truck.

Go to the main V-8 Forum page and click on Search.
In the Key word box enter Seat Belt
And change the time from 60 days to All.
This question has been answered many times. Just make sure that you fasten them with very large washers to help spread the support.

Juliano's has a good selection of seat belts and mounting hardware. I used them for shoulder belts for my 39 Fordor and for my 45 truck, after using a different method for my 28 Model A.

Beautiful truck, by the way.

I got my belts with shoulder harnesses for my '51 F-1 from Juliano's. You have to weld-in some supports for the harness brackets, but you can hide them behind the upholstery panels. I wasn't completely satisfied with the aircraft type buckles as they are hard to buckle. I got them back about 2005, so they may be better now.

One other thing, if you go with the harnesses, locate the lower passenger side bracket so it doesn't interfere with mounting the jack, which mounts behind the seat on the floor.

I found a used one. It is one piece with two mounting bolts. I will attach a picture of the one I found.
