Can anyone steer me towards a source for a rebuild kit? I've found one source for custom made rebuild kits. Most of the vendors seem to deal only with the single action Ford pumps.

It's an AC pump, not a carter pump.

Obsolete Ford Parts shows dual action fuel pumps for 1950 Mercury's. https://ford.obsoleteandclassicautoparts.com/catalog/fullsize-car?qad=96o293R294XNX393tM72RY9l52d767965H3U936x#page/126

Thanks Carcrazy. They do sell the whole pump, but not a rebuild kit. I'll give these guys a call on Monday. I'm also finding the fuel pump to be a hard-to-find part with other vendors. At least I got the fuel pump part number: 9350-A

The full P/N of the fuel pump is 8cm-9350-C. Most people find that pump difficult to rebuild and get satisfactory vacuum booster results. Then and Now and Charlie Schwendler ( cas5845@yahoo.com ) have good reviews in rebuilding that pump
