Good morning, I’m new to the forum and have a question. Did mercury put a double action fuel pump on the 52 Monterey V8? If so what would the part number be? If not , what would the number be for the single action be? Thanks. Mike

I most certainly don't worry about ethonol gas as I have been using NOS for years without problems! After over 30 years my single action fuel pump finally failed and I dug out some ancient NOS from my shelf that I purchased years ago from local shops that closed at their dispersal auction sales. This time I decided to use a dual action but to my disappointment the candidate has slight moisture damage and the check valves are damaged. I opened up another and pulled the valves out and swapped them. The other had wrong fittings compared to my previous working one. They are actually not overly hard to work on as I discovered so I wouldn't be scared of purchasing a kit. Many you will see have a single due to people spending less on a double I would assume. I always had a single due to "wives tales" of the duallies being hard on the camshaft lobe because they are harder to push the lever but these tales were told to me years ago. I will give the dual action a try. My wipers will work better and does anybody else have any input on the dual action being hard on camshafts?
