how does the fuel gauge work?? is it just a 1/8 tube from the tank to the gauge, or a cap tube???

The tubes and tube end fittings are available from most suppliers as is the red liquid. The tube transfers air from the unit in the tank to the back of the guage where air pressure pushes or pulls the red liquid from the reservior to the glass tube. These rather odd contraptions are also referred to as King-Seeley Guages. Most of the problems rebuilding these are getting the small tube from the reservior to the glass tube open. There are a number of ingenious ways that members have discovered to rectify this.
