Trying to find out what is the model of DL carb that would have been stock on a 5-window 32 Ford V8 (July production, if that matters).

A carburetor with a vertical fuel inlet in the die-cast center section and no opening on the left side of the cast iron base for the throttle shaft would be what you would want to look for. The covers for the float bowls were stamped with an alphabetic code for the month of production and for July, that would be 'G' followed by the numbers '32907'. If your a stickler for authenticity, those with an 'F' prefix would also be fine, but avoid those with the letter 'H' and higher and those with numbers (following the letter) '33907' indicating that they were manufactured in 1933. There are excellent illustrations of the '32 Detroit Lubricator carburetor in both the Club's new '32 book and in the September-October, 1932 Service Bulletin (available in reprint form). David
