Hello, We are restoring a very low mileage original 32 Ford V-8 model 18 standard tudor. The engine block and transmission appear to have been originally painted a dark grey. Does anyone know for sure what colors Ford may have painted The block and transmission? Thanks Jim

Continental, the 32 Ford restoration manual put out by the Early Ford V-8 Club should be a "must have" for anyone rerstoring a 32.This book has been one of the most researched book ever put out on the 32 Ford.
On page 5-19 of the book the author of the book says there are no "documented" facts that indicate that Ford used a gray paint on the engines and transmissions. He does say that he has seen a transmission case painted gray, but there are no facts to suppport the gray paint. The author recommends that if a car is to be restored for show purposes ,they should paint the engime and transmission the standard Ford dark green.
