Now I know boys and girls, this is opening a can of worms on which tires would be the most correct to put on a car. I know that companies don't replicate the exact tire anymore ( I don't remember offhand, but think its 4.75/5 Firestones) but which tire would be the best to replace those. I know there are 3 or 4 tires listed by Coker and other companies but I'm just wondering which tire people have had the best experience with or what looks the best on a black wheel, standard car.

Ford used four tire suppliers in the U.S. for its '32 models, namely Firestone, Goodyear, Goodrich, and U.S. Tire. The size used for passenger cars and commercial vehicles was 5.25 x 18 and a variety of sizes for big trucks. No one offers a true 5.25 x 18 tire today, rather what is available now is the 5.50 x 18 size tire, which isn't that far off. At one time in the past, there was a Firestone tire available with the original tread design. Unfortunately, the molds broke and what is available today in a Firestone tire has a tread design that Firestone adopted in 1935. The Goodrich 5.50 x 18 available today has a tread design identical to the original and the sidewall design is also true to the original. That makes it the most 'correct' of what is currently available. (They also look great on a car, in my opinion). Dave
